Would the Founding Fathers have taken such a pledge during or after their very well documented rejection of such indivisible State power?

Should we care that the American Pledge of Allegiance was written by a socialist in the late 1890s for the express purpose of marketing U.S. flags to newly surging public schools across the land?

Dare we notice the irony of making socialist-written pledges of personal loyalty to the indivisible power of the State above us on holidays that we comically refer to as “Independence Day”?
